I chose the field of
early childhood education because I wanted to focus on promoting learning and
development of very young people. I wanted to work with children
beginning from birth to eight years of age. I love being around children. I
want to continuously understand how young minds work. To help promote the
well-being of children, families, and the early childhood field, I must work to
understand the importance of developing very young minds and prepare them for
the future. Advocates are essential in the early childhood field. Advocates
know about policy issues in the field. They are aware and involve themselves in
moral issues and public concerns about early childhood education thus
supporting children and their families at large. I hope to learn much
information in regards to public policy and advocacy. I hope to learn
government regulations and laws and how they have a significant and powerful
impact on early childhood education.
Hi La Neisha,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your statement, "Advocates are essential in the early childhood field. Advocates know about policy issues in the field. They are aware and involve themselves in moral issues and public concerns about early childhood education thus supporting children and their families at large." I chose to focus this degree on Public Policy & Advocacy to have a better understanding of the early childhood field on a governmental level. Being an early childhood professional, I am aware of the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in place for early learning programs, but I wanted to have a deeper understanding of how such policies came to be so that I can further educate the families of my programs so that they will be in a position to be phenomenal advocates for their children!
