Establishing Professional Contacts

As an Early Childhood Educator, it is vital to stay connected globally. My goal is to continuously develop an understanding of others' perspectives on certain Early Childhood Education issues and trends. I took these following steps to establish contacts:

Step 1:    I am unable to establish two contacts with international Early Childhood professionals around the world so an alternative for me was to.......

Step 2:    I have selected to study Save the Children: A U.S. based profit organization working on behalf of children worldwide. http://www.savethechildren.org/site/c.8rKLIXMGIpI4E/b.6115947/k.8D6E/Official_Site.htm

Helpful Hint:
Select an Organization that really interest you and that you my want to become involved in. It will help you to enjoy researching and investigating.

  1. Hello LaNeisha,

I think it is good to look at one thing from different perspectives, then you can choose the best way to tackle a situation. I was also unable to establish contact with any professionals. I took your advice.

  2. Hi La Neisha,
I haven't yet been able to establish contact either. Which programs did you try to contact? Thank you for the helpful hint that you provided. I chose Zero to Three and the Society for Research in Child Development. I am very interested in child development so I look forward to receiving their newsletters. I find zero to three very informative and have been keeping up with them since undergrad. I hope you find success with your contacts!

  3. Hi La Neisha,
I also have the goal to develop an understanding of others perspectives towards the Early Childhood field. Learning about other programs outside the US, as well as others beliefs in the field is something that I hope to foster.

  4. Hello La Neisha,

I like your helpful hint because I did not know where to start from. I tried to establish contact with two early childhood professionals, but I have not heard from them either. I did not want to do the alternative assignment because I believe that it is important as a professional to have a wide range of professional contacts for different backgrounds.
